With over a decade of experience as a professional athletic trainer working with top level soccer talent, Jacob Joachim joined Whitecaps FC as the head athletic trainer at the start of 2011.
Prior to joining Whitecaps FC, Joachim served as the head athletic trainer for Real Salt Lake for six years, joining the team for its inaugural season in 2005. Prior to that, Joachim was employed by AthletiCO Sports Medicine and Physical Therapy, where he was contracted as the head athletic trainer for the United States Soccer Federation’s U-17 program based in Bradenton, Florida. He also worked in various capacities with the USSF’s U-14 boys, U-16 women, U-17 men, U-18 men, U-20 men as well as the US men’s national team. In addition to his employment with AthletiCo, Joachim also worked with the Chicago Fire Reserve team and Chicago Sockers of the United Soccer Leagues (USL) Premier Development League (PDL), as well as the Chicago Sockers youth program.
Jacob is a graduate of North Park University with a BSc in Sports Medicine with a focus in Athletic Training. He is currently a member of the Professional Soccer Athletic Trainer Association (PSATS).
